Searched for locking my front door

I’ve been stopped and searched coming outside my house. Literally I walked outside, shut the front door and they pulled up in the bullyvan [police van] and asked me “what you doing?”, I said “trying to shut my front door” and they said “you looked like you were trying to break in”. So I showed them my keys and said “No, I live here”. I opened the door and shut it back to show them that it was my key and they still searched me. At that age I was younger and I didn’t know my rights so I allowed it to happen but I guess now I would never allow that.
